Brenda Tri proud owner of Diamondsedge Farm was inspired on the shores of this very special place, Cannon Beach, where she spent her childhood summers dreaming of someday owning her own horse…..Every year she would save all her money, just so she could ride the beaches every summer spent at Cannon Beach.Being one of seven children, the odds of owning your own were against me. However,we had ‘Big John”, the family horse, but by the time it was my turn to ride…..it was time to go home. We didn’t have him long, bad idea to own one horse for all seven of us…..I waited every year wishing my pony would arrive Christmas morning out in the yard, but instead it was a pair of skates…..under the tree…..the skating rink became my second home…..competing all over the countryside on Greyhound Buses with my sister Deb,…..5-6 hours a day 5-6 days a week qualifying for nationals by the young age of 10, all awhile dreaming of having a horse someday…..My father told me at the age of 16, I could choose between a horse or a car…..I couldn’t wait for that day…..but tragicall , he was killed in a horrific car accident when I was 14…..needless to say, my whole world went upside down!!I I have experienced major adversities in my life including huge health obstacles, battling a disease I’ve lived with most of my life with near death episodes, numerous hospitalizations and numerous surgeries…..and living on life sustaining medications…..After being studied at National Jewish Hospital…..thinking that Chemotherapy might make a difference…..I knew in my heart it was time for me to have a HORSE…..”Flash Lightning”, the excitement of having my own horse inspired me such that gave me a new journey of hope. Twenty four years later, I am alive with the support of my husband, my two sons, my brother, many friends, especially Joe…..I have made my DREAMS come true…..having not only Flash, but a horse of almost every color and size…..living on a farm, on Beautiful Cape Cod. I am honored to share and give my life my horses have served to me. My mission continues to grow and share the healing power from the horse’s spirit to meet the needs of so many others, whether you are challenged physically, mentally, emotionally, or just want to be around horses. I dream someday that we will have an indoor riding arena so that we can continue to serve year round. I only wish I could give back even a fraction to Flash and the rest of our farm family, what they have done for me and so many others…..
